Procedure for Grapevine Pinot gris virus elimination under conditions of economic efficiency in order to increase the biological value of grapevine propagation material
Project responsible: Ionela-Cătălina GUȚĂ
Objectives:
- establishing of an economically efficient method for Grapevine Pinot gris virus elimination in grapevines;
- completing the knowledge regarding a new pathogen, less studied in our country, but which has an increased incidence in vineyards all over the world.
Estimated results:
- study of the GPGV in distribution in grapevine plants by vegetation phenophases
- study of the methods of GPGV elimination;
- validation methodology of a high-performance and economically efficient procedure for GPGV elimination, in simple or complex viral infection;
- patent application for the obtained procedure;
- presentation of the results in internal and international scientific events and their publication in scientific papers;
- dissemination in the public and private environment of grapevine growers.
Obtained results:
Year 2023
- Study regarding the analytical ranking of the performing experimental parameters obtained when applying the GPGV elimination methods;
- Study of GPGV distribution on vegetation phenophases in grapevine plants;
- Methodology for the validation of an efficient method of GPGV elimination;
- Experimental model for the validation of GPGV elimination.
Year 2024
- Study of the GPGV-free plants regeneration (initiation of experiments – 1 set of parameters / method / 2 infected genotypes);
- Study of the GPGV-free plants regeneration (in vitro multiplication and rooting);
- Study of virus elimination efficiency (vitroplants acclimatization and their ELISA testing);
- 1 ISI indexed paper.

Improving the in vitro propagation technology of Lonicera caerulea, a plant with high nutraceutical potential
Project responsible: Ana-Maria RADOMIR
Objectives:
- evaluation of the regenerative potential of explants in different stages of in vitro culture;
- establishing the composition of the nutritive medium, respectively the optimal hormonal balance for the culture initiation, multiplication and in vitro rooting of microshoots;
- assessment of the acclimatization capacity of vitro plants to ex vitro conditions;
- realization of the in vitro propagation technology of Lonicera caerulea species;
- testing the efficiency of the developed technology on various Lonicera caerulea varieties.
Estimated results:
- studies on the influence of biotic and abiotic factors on the morphogenetic potential of Lonicera caerulea explants in different stages of in vitro culture (initiation, multiplication, rooting);
- technological sequence regarding the in vitro propagation of Lonicera caerulea microshoots;
- technological sequence regarding the in vitro rooting of Lonicera caerulea microshoots;
- technological sequence regarding the acclimatization to ex vitro conditions of in vitro regenerated Lonicera caerulea plants;
- improved in vitro propagation technology of Lonicera caerulea species;
- published articles (2).

Modernized technologies for the production of certified planting material of new table grape varieties, patented at INCDBH Ștefănești

Objectives:
- increasing the technological performance in the propagation material production for new table grape varieties;
- sequential improvement of the technological flow of the viticultural planting material production;
- development of technologies based on different methods of grapevine propagation and the capitalization of the results by transfer to the beneficiaries.
Estimated results:
- study of the phenotypic characters of the varieties under study;
- study of the proposed variants for the project experiment;
- study of paraffin techniques with different additives for material callus formation and rooting;
- modernized technologies for the production of biological viticultural propagation material of table grape varieties patented at INCDBH Ștefănești;
- presentation of the results in internal and international scientific events and their publication in scientific papers;
- dissemination of the results in the public and private environment of grapevine growers.
Obtained results:

- Documentation regarding the choice of varieties taken into study in order to design the experimental model; covering the phenological spectrum in direct correlation with current climatic factors;
- Study on the main characteristics monitored regarding the quality of grafted grapevine, planted in the field nursery;

Improved winemaking biotechnologies by exploring yeast biodiversity in the Ștefănești grapevine growing area

Objectives:
- isolation and characterization of yeast biodiversity from the studied viticultural area;
- improving the winemaking technology by using the material basis of isolated local yeasts;
- exploring the molecular basis of wine yeast biodiversity, with impact on their terroir;
- evaluation of a wine traceability and authenticity system through a series of techniques based on molecular analysis.
Estimated results:
- studies regarding the influence of pedoclimatic factors on the yeasts presence on grape berries, soil or plant;
- technological sequence for yeasts purification and isolation from the area of study;
- technological sequence regarding the isolation and quantification of total genomic DNA from yeast colonies;
- biotechnological sequence regarding the yeast inoculation in wines;
- biotechnology in winemaking practice;
- winemaking technology;
- dissemination of results – workshop;

Ampelographic characterization, assessment of the agrobiological and technological potential of some old grapevine varieties from the Germplasm Collection of INCDBH Ștefănești in order to capitalize them in the National breeding program

Objectives:
- evaluation, maintenance and valorization of some grapevine varieties, with increased risk of genetic erosion, in order to preserve the biodiversity of the source of viticultural germplasm;
- evaluation of viticultural genetic variability and identification of valuable biotypes in old grape varieties, sources for increasing diversity in the Vitis genus;
- implementation of a sustainable agricultural system and preservation the ecological balance by using genotypes with high biological potential in the Breedingscheme.
Estimated results:
- description of varieties according to OIV norms;
- observation of strong characters in order to use them in the breeding process;
- obtaining specific wines to Romanian vineyards from the pre-phylloxera period;
- promotion of valuable varieties in culture;
- monitoring of pre-phylloxera varieties existing in the Germplasm Collection at INCDBH.
Obtained results:
Year 2023
- Study of some pre-phylloxera varieties in the Grapevine Germplasm Collection at INCDBH Ştefăneşti-Argeş compared with the Vitis International Variety Catalogue database, but also with the specialized literature;
- Study of the phenological spectrum (2022-2023) of the studied accessions, according to the BBCH scale, under the impact of climate change;
- Ampelographic characterization sheets of genotypes.
Year 2024
- Study of the agrobiological and technological descriptors of the studied accessions in order to complete the existing database;
- 1 ISI paper.
