PINOT NOIR 3 Șt.
The grape cluster is uniaxial, rarely winged, cylindrical, small, and very compact. The berry is spherical, small in size, and intensely black in color. The production capacity is superior, with an average yield of 1.7 kg of grapes per vine. The grapes reach maturity between September 15th and 20th. The variety exhibits low vigor and a short growing season (130–150 days). It has high tolerance to drought and frost; moderate tolerance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and gray rot, due to the compactness of the berries on the cluster. The grapes mature in early September (September 10th–15th). The average sugar concentration in the must is very high, reaching up to 220 g/l in years with favorable climatic conditions, with acidity between 3.8 and 4.5 g/l H₂SO₄. The average grape production does not exceed 3.0 kg per vine and approximately 14 tons per hectare in very good years. High-quality red wines are produced.
